How it fills
Save a place. The country changes colour.
You never mark a country visited. You save a temple, a hotel, an airport or a bar, and Noma works out which country and which region that was in.
- One source of truth. Country progress comes from your saved places. There is no second list to keep in sync.
- Remove the last place and it reverts. Delete everything you saved in a country and the country goes grey again, unless you saved the country itself.
- Wishlist stays separate. A place you want to go marks the country as wishlisted. It never counts as visited.
Stamps for the places that mattered. Landmarks engraved in a single ink colour, set in a perforated frame. They collect across your trip reports and your year in review.
You look at it before anyone else does.
Sharing a passport produces an image, not a link to your account. Documents, booking fields, chat and account details stay out of public itineraries. Review dates and anything you wrote before sharing.

Why 243 and not 195?
Noma counts territories as well as UN member states, and leaves out Antarctica and six remote territories with no permanent civilian population. That gives 243 places you could realistically stand in.
Do regions change my country count?
No. Regions are counted separately. Saving three prefectures in Japan still counts as one country, and as three regions.
Can I backfill old trips?
Yes, and most people do it in one sitting. Search for the place, save it, and the passport updates as you go.
Does anyone else see my passport?
Only if you export an image and send it yourself. There is no profile page and no directory.
